چکیده

Predicting the peak ground velocity (PGV) of vibrations is essential to blast mining operations in order design charge weights so as not exceed certain thresholds that prevent damage buildings and other infrastructure. The problem usually marred by a large scatter observed PGV due unknown complexities seismic wave propagation. Classic prediction methods employ empirical formulas, most widespread being Scaled Distance approach has least parameters calibrate works for single sensor. In this study, we used data from 55 production blasts recorded an array 81 sensors open pit iron ore mine Austria. We evaluated compared different predicting PGV. set provides sufficient constraint independently resolve weight exponent c, radial decay constant b, local site factors. c/b-ratio 0.2 find our far smaller than implied US Bureau Mining method, predictions made with latter are significantly worse. This highlights importance using site-specific predictive models suggests relying on arbitrary priors may lead inaccurate predictions. For value 0.5 which interpret expression physical relationship between weight, energy, amplitude, suggesting be global, site-independent, value. result probable broader relevance beyond specific location could improve outcomes sites. article protected copyright. Blast vibration modeling using linear superposition method

A linear superposition method was used for modeling the time history of the production blast vibrations and optimizing the blast sequence to reduce vibration levels in Sar-Cheshmeh copper mine, Kerman, Iran. A single-hole blast for modeling and two double-hole blasts with time delays of 25 and 65 ms between two holes for modeling validation were carried out. The generated vibrations were measur...

Gearbox Noise and Vibration Prediction and Control

This paper will review practical techniques and procedures employed to quiet gearboxes and transmission units. The author prefers solving the gear noise problem at the very source to introduce an enclosure as a means to reduce radiated noise, which seems to be easy but its effect on the sound pressure level is small. The gearbox noise problem solution is focused on the improvement of gear desig...
